Frauke is a soprano who enjoys performing unusual and challenging repertoire. Areas of special interest include Early Music, late-Romantic and early 20th-Century art song, contemporary music, historical dance, and Renaissance keyboard music.

Since 2023, she is Professor of Music Theory at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Previously, she lectured in performance practice, music history, and counterpoint at the University of Aberdeen, where she directed the Early Music Ensembles.
